This test - OPTOmap® - is a retinal examination that detect signs of other diseases that affect not just your eyes, but also your overall health.

The exam is unique in that it gives us a much larger view (200 degrees) of the back of the eye - your retina - than conventional eye exam equipment. The images can be taken WITHOUT DIALTING your pupils - a very common procedure which is uncomfortable and inconvenient for many people. The OPTOmap Retinal Exam provides us with important information about your health, without the need for uncomfortable pupil dilation.

We want to protect your eyesight and that's why it is important to have annual vision tests. These checks allow us to detect changes in the front of your eye so that alterations can be made to your eyeglass or contact lens prescription. However, we also need to look at the back of your eye, the retina, to check to make sure it is healthy and not damaged or showing signs of disease.

Many eye diseases, if detected at an early stage, can be treated successfully without total loss of vision.
